“Elevator” Pitch: CoVi is a smartphone app, which uses the power of the crowd to create stunning multicam videos of any performance.
CoVi dreams of a world where people can use innovative technology, share content freely and are not hindered by any boundaries to co-operate, co-create and interact meaningfully.
The power of the world is shifting from centralized top-down structures to decentralized collectives. We believe all people of the world will benefit from this process and we want to humbly help awaken the power of the crowd and at the same time empower individuals. We believe in the interdependence of reality and that the economy is circular, not a one-way street. Anything that you do for someone, will come back to you in one way or another. In others words the more you give away, the more you will get back.
In the past you were what you owned. Now you are what you share. – Charles Leadbeater
With the advancement of technology an almost unlimited potential is being revealed. Where in the past only a small number of people could benefit from new technology, today everyone can. We are here to help people tap into the potential for creative works and love that we cannot even predict the amount of possibilities our app will open up.
Earning enough money to sustain and invest in the company is important but beyond that we are not looking for huge profits. We see money as we see inches; it’s a way of measuring what happens. Nothing more, nothing less. If we would make a (growth) goal out of making money, it would make us working counter productive. Because when you are out to make as much money as possible costs become an easy target for increasing profits especially if you don’t keep a sustainable, long term vision in mind. There is only one thing in nature that always wants to grow and that is cancer. And this we don’t want to be. We are a solution, we don’t want to create another problem:
“In a disconnected world, the costs of [being] evil are minimal. In a hyper-connected world, the costs of [being] evil explode.” – Umair Haque’s Law, HBR blog.
Within ten years we want to become a mainstream brand that is top of mind across smartphone owners and artists. When people think about co-creation, stunning videos and innovation we want them to think about us. We are here for artists, prosumers but also video professionals. All of this will be done through using the power that is already in the palm of most people’s hands: the smartphone.
